Despite its title, this book is not for beginners. I am a beginner gardener and this book completely overwhelmed me and went right over my head. There are about 15 different fertilizers she says to use and the book wants you to make and mix most of them yourself ( no tips on buying them or anything). She talks of compost like everyone has a big handy compost bin in their backyard and wants you to brew some tea all the time for your plants. I didn’t understand most of this book. She keeps talking about pinching your plants back to make them fuller, but offered no pictures and as a novice gardener, I have no idea what she is taking about. This book is really for someone who has gardener for years, had a big garden and wants to take their skill up a notch. Also, this book is boring and wordy and pretty sure she just tried to fit in as many big words as she could to sound smart. I have a small raised garden bed and this book is not helpful in the least.
