Quite possible our most famous,as well as our BEST president.I had a basic knowledge of FDR from all of the WWII books I have read,and I wanted to know more.This book provided the personal details that the WWII books left out.Aside from getting us through our toughest times as a nation,(TheGreat Depression,WWII),this man was responsible for the creation of Social security,and the United Nations!He was also a strong supporter of the Jews and making Palestine a Jewish State.His job would have been extraordinarily stressful for a physically fit man,let alone a man crippled in hus legs from polio,however,he never let it slow him down.Plagued by serious cardiac issues in his 4TH TERM(only president with that distinction!),he would not slow down,or alter his busy schedule as his daughter and doctors begged him too,which hastened his death.He is yet another one of my heroes from the Greatest Generation,right up there with,Major Dick Winters,General Patton,James J Braddock,and my grandparents Charles and Virgina Gruver,and Donald and Margaret Bytheway.
